Below is another (359) MUG, with no L-shape into box 9. I can’t get the elims from this one either, though!

Code:
 *-----------------------------------------------------------*
 | 1     4     7     | 35    6     35    | 8     2     9     |
 | 2     3     6     | 9     8     4     | 7     1     5     |
 | 9     5     8     | 2     1     7     | 4     6     3     |
 |-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
 | 8     9     24    | 346   43    1     | 26    5     7     |
 | 6     7     45    | 45    2     8     | 9     3     1     |
 | 3     1     25    | 7    *59   *59+6  | 26    4     8     |
 |-------------------+-------------------+-------------------|
 | 45    6     1     | 8    *359+4 *359  | 35    7     2     |
 | 7     2     9     | 1    *35+4  *35+6 | 35    8     46    |
 | 45    8     3     | 456   7     2     | 1     9     46    |
 *-----------------------------------------------------------*

Well, it turns out that doesn’t work because it is not a MUG!
Here’s what I’ve learned about MUGs from someone a lot smarter than I:

"There must be either a) 2 cells in each of 3 boxes, or b) 3 cells in each of 2 boxes. If you reduce them to (one of six possible) BUG-Lites, you'll see why."
Code:

 .   abc .   | .   abc .   | .   abc .
 .   .   .   | .   .   .   | .   .   .
 .   abc .   | .   abc .   | .   abc .
-------------+-------------+-------------
 .   .   .   | .   .   .   | .   .   .

 .   abc .   | .   abc .   | .   .   .
 .   abc .   | .   abc .   | .   .   .
 .   abc .   | .   abc .   | .   .   .
-------------+-------------+-------------
 .   .   .   | .   .   .   | .   .   .

The “second” MUG I thought I saw is not a MUG by these rules, because if one is trying to confine the pattern to two boxes it has to contain three cells in each box.

An example of a MUG with two cells in each of three boxes is here.

That clears up the second MUG (mine), it’s bogus. Still working on the first, and learning a thing or two along the way Smile .
