Look at AUR(23)r79c68 => one of [(5)r79c8, (8)r7c8] must be true.
AUR(23)r79c68:(5)r79c8=(8)r7c8-(8=5)r2c8-(25=9)r2c12-(9)r9c1=(9)r9c7 => r9c7<>5, STTE

ttt, great to see you. Last I heard you were talking about "retirement," so I was worried. It's not that easy for the great ones to retire (right, Danny?)

My solution happens to be in the same neighborhood as yours, ttt.

10/05/22: (C) Advanced (SE 7.1)

1) AUR(56)r78c49 => r78c9<>5

Code:
 *--------------------------------------------------------------------*
 | 6      1      45     | 9      3      8      | 245    7      245    |
 | 259    25     7      | 4      6      1      | 589    58     3      |
 | 349    8      349    | 7      2      5      | 6      1      49     |
 |----------------------+----------------------+----------------------|
 | 7      4      2      | 3      5      9      | 1      6      8      |
 | 1      6      58     | 2      78     4      | 3      9      57     |
 | 358    9      358    | 1      78     6      | 25     4      257    |
 |----------------------+----------------------+----------------------|
 | 2458   235    1      | 56     9      23     | 7      2358   46     |
 | 24589  235    4589   | 56     1      7      | 4589   2358   469    |
 | 259    7      6      | 8      4      23     | 59     235    1      |
 *--------------------------------------------------------------------*

2) (46=9)als:r78c9-(9)r3c9=r3c13-(9=25)als:r2c12-(5=8)r2c8-r78c8=(8)r8c7
=>r8c7<>4, singles

I can't follow the notation, but I noticed the 23 UR with the 58 pseudo cell but didn't use it.

I did use:

UR (56) with 49 pseudo cell
Type 6 UR (25)
DP (57-78-58)
W-Wing (58), flightless, with pincer transport
M-Wing (59)

Some puzzles should come with warning labels.

Code:
   c39   X-Wing                          <> 9    r3c1,r8c17

 <89+5>  XYZ-Wing r2c7/r2c8+r9c7         <> 5    r1c7

 r15     X-Wing                          <> 5    r68c3,r678c9

 r69\c17 finned  X-Wing                  <> 5    r8c7

 r79c68  <23> UR Type 3.2243             r8c8<>58

 r16c79  <25> UR Type 6.2222             r1c9,r6c7<>5

I think Peter already covered that idea, Seeker.

Well, encouraged by Wapiti's love of fish and also as we seem to have at least two almost based solutions covered, how about a little two step:

1)Finned swordfish on 5s (with fin at r9c8) which means r7c9 and r8c79 <>5
2)(25-4)r1c7=(4-9)r3c9=(9-8)r2c7=(8-4)r8c7=(4)r1c7; r1c7=4

Yes, but didn't know it had a formal name! Thanks

I have found more generic 'almost xy-wings' recently - but I can see with all the subsets in the column it is a wxyz-wing.

Continuing to learn!
