so the friday competitions are considered to be the MM puzzles??? or are all the competition puzzles considered MM puzzles?

this puzzle has some very interesting patterns, I think the key is spotting the x-wing. then its choose your destiny from a number of techniques.

After the x-wing mentioned by Norm there is a finned x-wing on <6> that solves the puzzle

After the xwing I had all singles to this BUG+1 here:
Code:

+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 5       2       69       | 3       7       69       | 1       8       4        |
| 8       39      1        | 2       4       5        | 6       79      37       |
| 36      7       4        | 1       69      8        | 5       2       39       |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 2       6       8        | 9       3       7        | 4       1       5        |
| 79      4       5        | 6       8       1        | 2       3       79       |
| 1       39      37       | 5       2       4        | 8       79      6        |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+
| 79      5       79       | 4       1       2        | 3       6       8        |
| 4       1       36       | 8       69      369      | 7       5       2        |
| 36      8       2        | 7       5       36       | 9       4       1        |
+--------------------------+--------------------------+--------------------------+

(BTW, the x-wing is still sitting there in cols 2 and 8 like it was when it removed all those nines ...)

After the X-wing and a couple of basics, I used a Remote Pair on {69} to eliminate the {6} from r8c3, which left singles to finish the puzzle.
