It’s good to hear from you, smith99.

Without a grid I’m not certain where you are. Perhaps this is the position:

 	  | Code: | +---------------------------------------+

| A C B . | 6 8 . . | 9 . . . | 4 1 E . |

| . . . 8 | . 1 . A | . . F D | . 9 . 5 |

| D 4 1 . | . . . . | 6 A 2 . | 8 . . . |

| 5 6 7 9 | 3 . . F | 0 8 1 . | . . . . |

-----------------------------------------

| . 7 D . | . . . 8 | . . . 4 | 1 . 0 . |

| 4 . . . | . . . . | 1 E . . | 9 C . . |

| 2 F . 0 | 7 E . . | . . C . | A . . . |

| . . . . | . B . . | A 0 D 5 | . 6 . . |

-----------------------------------------

| . . A . | 1 2 D 6 | . . 3 . | . . . . |

| . . 4 3 | . 0 . . | . . A 1 | B . 2 6 |

| . . 0 7 | . . 8 E | . . . . | . . 1 9 |

| . D . 1 | C . . . | 7 . . . | . F 4 . |

-----------------------------------------

| . . . . | . 3 6 9 | D 7 4 A | F E B 1 |

| . . . 4 | . 5 . 0 | . . . . | . 7 . . |

| 7 . 6 . | B F . . | 5 . 0 . | C . . . |

| . E . D | . . . 4 | . . 6 B | 0 5 9 8 |

+---------------------------------------+ |

If so, you will need to find the hidden (4B) in the second row.

				Thanks, Steve R.

I don't know how to make a grid. I have the 4B on the 2nd row.

In the 2nd block I have resolved

 6 8 0 D, 2 1 (C7) A, E (79) (B9) 5, 3 (C4) (B4) F

6	8	X	D

2	1	C7	A

E	79	B9	5

3	C4	B4	F

I'll try to learn how to make a grid. |

You seem to have gone well past my hint. The hint leads directly to placing E in r15c7 and the rest is singles so I’m not sure where the problem lies..

I find I can’t post a candidate grid of this size. The best I can do is the left-hand 14 columns:

 	  | Code: | +------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| A      C       B      2F     | 6      8    270     27D  | 9      35      57     37       | 4    1

| 30E    230     23E    8      | 2E     1    27CE    A    | 4BCE   4BC     F      D        | 267  9

| D      4       1      EF     | 590E   79C  5790BCE 57BC | 6      A       2      37CE     | 8    30B

| 5      6       7      9      | 3      4CD  24BCE   F    | 0      8       1      CE       | 2D   2ABD

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| 39BCE  7       D      56ABCE | 259AF  69AC 2359ACF 8    | 23BF   239BF   9B     4        | 1    23B

| 4      358AB   358    56AB   | 250ADF 6AD  2350AF  235D | 1      E       78B    2378F    | 9    C

| 7      12389A  6      2A     | B      F    12AE    12D  | 5      1239    0      2389E    | C    234AD

| 13C    E       23CF   D      | 2A     7AC  127AC   4    | 23CF   1236CF  6      B        | 0    5

+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

If this doesn’t help, all I can suggest is that you post a grid of the entries only. This can be done by:

-	pasting my grid into your word processing program

-	applying a Courier font

-	amending it to show the position reached

-	pasting it back in the site’s message pane

-	selecting it and

-	clicking the code button.

It will still look a mess in the message pane but when you click the preview button the preview pane should have it all lined up nicely.

Good luck!

Steve

PS 14 columns worked in the preview panel but evidently not in the real world. I've spent too lomg fiddling with this so I'm afraid you'll have to make do with the result. |

Thank you for all your effort.

I have the E but the block is not resolved.

R14C7 = C2

R16C6 = C7

R16C7 = C27

I learned on another website so language a little different. I will try your grid (with a little from my friends, son#1) and send the whole thing since you are so willing to help!!

Thanks for your reply, Steve, but I'm afraid I don't understand any of it!

Firstly the 79 pair in r78c4 is not an exclusive pair as the 7 is possible in r8c2 and r9c1 in box 7, and r9c4 in column 4.

In addition, r8c2 has a possible 6, so the 135 'triple' is not valid.
