re'born,
The extended xyz-wing with pivot at r8c4 and pincers at r8c6 and r4c3 implies one of the endpoints is a 5.

I think you should add the strong link on <3> in R2 that extends the wing. ...

oh my, that is not looking good. I think I had that backwards.

should be (1=4)r9c1- (4)r2c1 = (4-1)r2c3 = (1)r6c3; r5c1 <> 1

or it could be (1=4)r9c1 - (4)r8c3 = (4-1)r2c3 = (1)r6c3; r ...

Thanks for the keen explanation, daj! Here is the process I'm using to find kraken eliminations:

Find a potential x-wing with one too many cells. Observe the potential eliminations of the x-wing. T ...

If you forgo the pleasant (1Cool UR, the same cells point to a Kraken x-wing that eliminates 8 from r5c3, solving the puzzle. I'm really starting to enjoy finding those.

Very good. Now, how about the ...

Consider the set of cells {r689c4, r9c7}[2469]. The max multiplicity of this set appears to be 6 (1,2,2,1), but closer inspection reveals that 4 and 6 cannot both appear twice. Thus the max multiplici ...

I'm particulary fond of this puzzle because it contains a Kraken X-Wing that performs 6/7 eliminations. Fortunately, you don't need it to solve the puzzle. If you get energetic, you can search for i ...

After the empty rectangle eliminates 9 from r9c2, you get the above grid and the seemingly useless xyz-wing on 8 marked ABC. Both A and B are weakly linked to (8)r9c6=X which is strongly linked to (Cool ...

An empty rectangle in box 9 kills the 9 in r9c2. A transported xyz-wing with pivot r9c3 then eliminates 8 from r5c5. This cracks the puzzle.

I can't see a transport.

I couldn't at first either. ...
